ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A four-storey Tapaz Municipal Government Center with two elevator units will serve Tapaznons early next year, according to Tapaz mayor Roberto Palomar.
He disclosed the idea when asked about the progress of the P103-million town hall deemed as the biggest and modern government building in the province.
The project was among the infrastructure development initiatives of the local government unit (LGU) that Palomar highlighted in his State of the Municipality Address on Aug. 6.
“Target date of completion is about January or February next year,” Palomar said, adding that the construction was over halfway done.
It was constructed in the site of the estimated 50-year-old municipal hall which was condemned and demolished in August last year.
He added the town hall and other infrastructure projects like public market, transport terminal and road projects particularly in the upland barangays, among others, are aligned with President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to “full blast” infrastructure development among the LGUs.
