ILOILO City – The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) will be conducting simultaneous entrance examinations in 41 locations across the country on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Here, the exam venue is the University of Iloilo (UI).
As of this writing, there were already 535 online applicants, said Lieutenant Lelemie Bandillon, officer-in-charge of the proctor team for the Iloilo exam.
An applicant should be:
* a natural-born Filipino citizen
* at least five feet in height (male and female)
* physically fit
* of good moral character
* single and has not sired/given birth to a child
* with no administrative or criminal case
* between 17 to 22 years old and high school graduate
* senior high school students may apply provided they will graduate before June 1, 2020
Walk-in applicants will also be accepted in exam day, said Bandillon.
The entrance examination is the first stage in the selection process for cadetship in the PMA, the premier military leadership training school in the country.
Bandillon said PMA cadets enjoy full government scholarship; they need not pay for their four years of training in the academy to secure a Bachelor of Science degree.
After graduation, PMA graduates are commissioned with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
On examination day at UI this Sunday morning, those who applied online must bring pencils and the confirmation letter sent them.
On the other hand, walk-in applicants must bring, aside from pencils, a photocopy of their birth certificate, Form 137, Form 138 and latest grades.
Those who pass the exam will compose PMA Class 2024. They will be officially received in the Academy in an oath-taking ceremony and reception rites on June 1, 2020./PN
