ILOILO City – Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) got a much-needed boost.
Four hundred all-male police recruits took oath as members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday in Camp Delgado here.
Much is expected from the new recruits, according to Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, regional police director.
He reminded them to, among others, follow the rules and regulations of the PNP or the organization would dismiss them from the service or slap them with corresponding penalties.
“We will give you the strictest training,” Pamuspusan told the recruits, “para maunawaan talaga ang role ng isang pulis.”
Pamuspusan wished the new recruits a successful career in the police service.
Reception rites followed the oath-taking ceremony.
“This is a tradition of the PNP to prepare the recruits physically and give them insights on what to expect in the training center. The reception is just a beginning,” according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 information officer.
Pamuspusan assured the families of the recruits, “We will return them to you as disciplined gentlemen.”
These patrolmen will undergo the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) for six months at the Regional Training School 6 (RTC6) in Bacolod City.
This will be followed by another six months of Field Training Program (FTP) which will qualify them for permanency in the police organization.
The new policemen they will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,668 aside from allowances and other benefits.
After the FTP, they will be temporarily assigned to the police mobile force in Negros Occidental while waiting for another training, the Basic Internal Security Operations Course. After this, they would be deployed to police stations.
Malong said no female applicants were accepted because the PRO-6 already exceed its female police quota./PN
