ILOILO City – “In this life, anything is possible.”
This was the response of Derek Ramsay when asked if there is a possibility of him falling in love with Andrea Torres, his leading lady in GMA’s primetime series “The Better Woman.”
To note, there had been rumors that Derek and Andrea were in a relationship but the two did not categorically deny or confirm it.
Andrea explained that she is close with Derek, however, the relationship rumors took them both by surprise. “Close naman talaga kami. Actually nagulat kami from the very start na ganun nga po ang nangyari kasi usually may process di ba bago ka maging open sa isang tao, bago magkaroon ng trust,” Andrea told Panay News.
The duo was in Iloilo on Aug. 31 for a Kapuso Mall Show at Robinson’s Place Pavia, courtesy of GMA Regional TV.
Derek described Andrea as “maalagain and really really sweet,” someone who always spoils him.
The most daring Kapuso leading man recalled that the first time he met Andrea was during the making of the station ID of GMA. “Usually when I start my project with my leading leady nag eeffort ako niyan to get to know them first para pag may mga intimate scenes comfortable ka, you trust me. But with Andrea we were never given an opportunity to get to know each other so we met right there on set and the first thing we do is ako topless siya naka bikini…and then oh, magpakilig kayo dyan…Everyone love the chemistry that we have and that is strange because I have never experienced that with my other leading ladies in the past,” Derek narrated.
Derek said he and Andrea enjoy each other’s company on the set. “I guess that would keep me saying also na sa hirap ng ginagawa namin masaya ako kasi I am enjoying her company,” said Derek.
Since the worldwide premiere of “The Better Woman,” both Derek and Andrea have been lauded by Kapuso viewers for their undeniable chemistry and outstanding portrayals of their characters. In the series, Derek plays Andrew de Villa while Andrea convincingly switches between twin sisters Jasmine de Villa and Juliet Santos-de Villa, also known as Elaine Reyes.
