THREE Filipina beauty queens have returned to New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
Pia Wurtzbach graced the runway show of Albert Andrada, the same Filipino designer behind her iconic blue gown in Miss Universe.
“What a pleasure it was to wear your creation again, Albert Andrada!” the Miss Universe 2015 titleholder said in an Instagram post.
“Congratulations on a successful show at NYFW,” added Wurtzbach, who took part in NYFW in 2016 and 2018.
Reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray, on the other hand, was spotted attending shows for the past three days, along with Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst and Miss Teen USA 2019 Kaliegh Garris.
One of the events they took part in was the fashion show of Sherri Hill, a Miss Universe sponsor.
It can be recalled that Gray was chosen to take part in Hill’s NYFW show months before she competed – and eventually won – Miss Universe in 2018.
Janine Tugonon, who finished first runner-up to Olivia Culpo of the United States in Miss Universe 2012, was one of the muses in Hill’s NYFW show.
The New York-based Filipina model said she was “fangirling” after getting the chance to meet Gray.
“So great to see you there!” Tugonon said in an Instagram post, which showed a photo of her with the reigning Miss Universe.
Prior to this, Tugonon was featured in an NYFW show in 2017. (ABS-CBN News)
