PDEA denies Pototan ‘abduction’

ILOILO – Finally, the regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has addressed the issue on the alleged abduction of a man in Pototan town.

Paul Ledesma denied his men abducted 25-year-old Don Palomar on May 8.

It was an arrest with Palomar as the drug suspect in a buy-bust operation, Ledesma stressed.

Palomar’s father, Florente reported to the Pototan police station that his son was forcibly taken by three armed men and a woman in a white Toyota Innova in Brgy. Malusgod on May 8.

Don was driving his motorcycle when flagged down by unidentified persons, Florante complained to the police, citing statements from persons who claimed to have seen what happened.

Florante reported to the police after his son failed to return home that day.

Ledesma said Palomar tried to escape after selling a plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.

“There was a brief chase before the arrest,” he clarified.

Palomar is now detained at the Pototan police station. He faces an illegal drug charge, said Ledesma./PN
