ILOILO City – Two days after an employee of a courier service firm was robbed by riding-in-tandem motorcyclists on Valeria Street, City Proper, a cafeteria owner fell victim to the same style of robbery.
Lorry Pajate lost money and two mobile phones to a motorcycle-driving man who snatched her bag yesterday in Brgy. Rizal-Lapuz, La Paz district.
Pajate was waiting to catch a jeepney ride around 4:30 a.m. when a man driving a motorcycle stopped in front of her and asked for directions.
The man wanted to know if the Lapuz bridge was passable, Pajate told the La Paz police station.
But all of a sudden, the man grabbed her bag and drove away, she said.
Pajate said her bag contained P10,000 cash and two cellular phones.
This was the second snatching incident involving motorcycle-driving robbers this week.
On Monday, Allan Loredo, 46, an employee of LBC Express and a resident of Brgy. Quintin Salas, Jaro district, claimed he lost P143,000 to two robbers riding on a motorcycle while walking along Valeria St., City Proper.
He said he had just withdrawn money from Banco de Oro branch on Valeria St. and while on his way to their office on Bonifacio Drive, City Proper around 1 p.m., a motorcycle stopped beside him; its back rider suddenly snatched his backpack with the money.
Loredo said the money belonged to their company./PN
