ILOILO – For the second time, Aleosan District Hospital (ADH) in Alimodian town bagged the Department of Health (DOH) 30 Star Awards.
The award, given on Sept. 17, 2019 at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, was in recognition of ADH’s commitment in upholding quality healthcare for the people.
Hospital chief Dr. Paz Calopiz said ADH, which also won the same award last year, is the only hospital in Western Visayas to be given such recognition.
DOH 30 Star Awards gives recognition to 10 Level I hospitals, in which ADH is categorized, 10 Level II hospitals and 10 Level III hospitals or a total of 30 hospitals nationwide.
Health secretary Francisco Duque III conceptualized the DOH 30 Star Awards last year to encourage both private and public hospitals to continuously improve their service and to enhance their compliance to regulatory requirements.
The hospitals were scored according to the criteria set under the following categories: Safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employees satisfaction, community-based projects/programs, and quality improvements.
Last year, Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital (DRYLMH) in Lambunao also got the award.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. lauded Dr. Calopiz and all the ADH personnel for getting the DOH recognition.
He urged the ADH personnel to keep up the good work as he also encouraged the other provincial government hospitals to do the same. (ECG, Capitol News/PN)
