KALIBO, Aklan – Police arrested a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in this capital town.
Tuesday’s late afternoon sting operation led to the apprehension of Jose Benuelle Delgado of Rosal Street in Barangay Andagao, Kalibo, a police report showed.
Delgado was caught after he allegedly sold a sachet of dried marijuana leaves, stem and seeds to an undercover cop for P3,000, the report added.
Prior to the operation, Delgado was under surveillance for more than a month, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit head Major Frensy Andrade said.
“Ang suspek ay miyembro ng grupong patuloy nagbebenta ng droga sa mga kabataan,” Andrade added.
Delgado was now under the custody of the Kalibo police station. Now detained, the suspect is set to face charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
