ELAINE Duran finally got her chance at the spotlight. She was named the winner of this year’s amateur singing competition “Tawag ng Tanghalan”.
She won after performing a medley of Basil Valdez’s hits and a thrilling rendition of Shanti Dope’s rap song “Nadarang”.
She defeated John Michael dela Cerna and John Mark Saga – the others who made the cut for the competition’s top three.
Dela Cerna placed third, while Saga finished second.
Duran won a P2-million cash prize, a house and lot, and a recording and talent contract, among other prizes.
The grand finals was held at the Caloocan Sports Complex. (ABS-CBN)
