MANILA – Days after clinching its third consecutive League title, Ceres-Negros FC will hope for its second straight title this year in the Philippines Football League Copa Paulino Alcantara 2019 starting Oct. 26.

The Negros Occidental-based football club has been bracketed with Mendiola 1991 FC, Green Archers United FC and Philippines U22 squad in Group A.

Defending champions Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo, on the other hand, is in Group B along with Philippine Air Force FC and Stallion Laguna FC.

Each squad will be playing their group mates once with the top-two finishers advancing the crossover semifinals on Nov. 10.

The semifinals winners will play in one-game finale on Nov. 16.

The tournament champion, unless it is three-peat League titlist Ceres-Negros, will be given a ticket as the second Philippine-based squad in the 2019 Asian Football Confederation Cup.

If ever Ceres-Negros will once again rule the PA Cup, it will be Kaya Iloilo that will clinch the second ticket to the AFC Cup next year after placing second during the just-concluded League conference.

The second conference of the PFL was named after Filipino-Spanish football legend Paulino Alcantara who was born in Concepcion, Iloilo in 1896./PN
