BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental is losing millions of pesos due to the delayed construction of major infrastructure projects, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz bared.
Diaz cited the delay in the completion of Negros Food Terminal (Pala-Pala) at the North Capitol road and the multi-purpose building being built next to the National Bureau of Investigation office at Aguinaldo Street in this city.
He also noted the unfinished Negros First Residences and the Mambukal Convention Center Hotel at the Mambukal Resort in Murcia.
Diaz together with other provincial government officials will meet the contractors of the food terminal and multi-purpose building to discuss the delays.
“We will urge them to hasten completion of these projects,” he stressed.
As for the Capitol-operated hotel, Diaz said it is still under construction and the elevator has not been fully completed.
“We expect it to be fully operational in the summer next year,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Mambukal Convention Center Hotel is currently being assessed for durability./PN
