MANILA – Iloilo City-based taekwondo jins were dominant in the 2019 National Interschool Taekwondo Championships over the weekend at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City.
Jins from Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym showed their wares in kyorugi with gold medals from Andria Palabrica, Samantha Gayle Go, Akimeh Demavivas, Christian Pudadera, Angela Joy Bermejo, Maria Dorothea Aquino, Kate Sheevanie Santocildes, Niña Pearl Acosta, Anna Francheska Cordova, and Jhed Morata.
Winning kyorugi silver were Sheine Nicole De Asis, Elisha Meila Paradero, Enzo Lucio Cape, Mickael Cerbo, Gabriel Galupar, and Josh Macahilig while Jared Darien Bernadas, Katrina Mamaril, Jannah Ysabel Velez, and Raphael Pico netted bronze medals each.
In poomsae, Cape got a gold in individual and bronze in team poomsae. Shanen Anica Feranco netted a gold in individual poomsae; Palabrica, Paradero, Santocildes Justin Adrian Apura, and Viene Marie Dulaca had a silver each, and Geon Ivan Dulaca and Cindy Joy Diasnes won a bronze each.
Taekwondo jins from Iloilo A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym were also dominant with individual poomsae gold medals from Jeserray Frantilla, Heleana Donton and Justin Diasnes.
Winning silver medals were Aryan Nonis, Exiovince Albor and Almar Diasnes and bronze from Paolo Gonzalez, Crizzel Ahmed, Lansil Brotarlo, Ma. Krizzel Balofiños, Jan Gancero, Franchesca May Paredes, and Ryza Orocio.
Winning team poomsae silvers were Frantilla, Gancero, Balofiños, Airon Aguana, Mariel Angela Siscar, and Kristi Marie Siscar, while bronze medal winner was Gonzales.
In kyorugi, Brotarlo and Kyle Chin had a gold medal each; while Frantilla, Janus Miguel Tacsagon, Franz Angelo Fernandez, Beatriz Dacpano, Ashton James Alvarez, Liam Legayada, Mariel Siscar, Kristi Siscar and Diana Dello won silvers.
Bronze medallist in kyorugi events were Gonzales, Balofinos, Albor, Justine Diasnes, Elijah Seth Nisola, Franchesca May Paredes, Rufino Antonio Barrato, and John Andrew Jabao./PN
