DHAKA – At least seven people were killed and eight others were injured on Sunday after a gas pipeline exploded in the Bangladeshi port city of Chittagong, the police said.
According to Mohammad Mohsin, one person suffered burns while others were wounded when the wall collapsed.
Fire service official Amir Hossain said it was not immediately clear what caused the explosion.
Last month, seven children died after a gas cylinder used for inflating balloons exploded in this capital.
Faulty gas pipelines and substandard cylinders often cause accidents in the south Asian country, blamed on lax monitoring.(Reuters)
