BACOLOD City – Aside from the Yanson family row in the giant bus company Vallacar Transit, there’s another family business squabble here.
On Nov. 22, the founder of Negros Grace Pharmacy here, Corazon Lo, made a public appeal to her three sons, Theodore Manuel, Jonathan Manuel and Ian Manuel.
“To all my sons, kun tani… I’m already 80…I won’t be long on this earth. Gusto ko sila will be united,” said Lo yesterday.
In February, Lo filed a case (SRC Case. No. 19-115) at the Regional Trial Court, Branch 53 to stop the planned sale of the pharmacy to Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. by sons Theodore and Ian.
Lo claimed she was barred from entering their main office in Barangay Mandalagan on Friday morning, the fourth such time, and even in the warehouse of their pharmacy.
They have 70 branches in the Visayas, said Lo who founded the pharmacy chain with husband, the late Dr. Manuel Lo.
According to the pharmacy founder, the security guard at their main office told her there’s a standing instruction to bar her from entering.
“How come nag amo na?” Lo asked. “Indi ako ka intiendi. Ngaa indi ako pasudlon sa akon mismo opisina? Ma istorya ko sa bata ko pero indi ko ka-reachout sa ila.”
According to Lo, the security guard told her he could lose his job if he allowed her to come in.
“I am fighting for my rights and as founder of the business,” Lo stressed.
She urged her sons to see her.
Ian Manuel issued a statement through his legal counsel Asia Canieso, who said her client tried to talk to his mother several times in the past but he was spurned.
The other salient points Canieso raised were the following:
* Mrs. Lo was barred from entering due to the pending court case so as not to elicit sensitive information from company personnel.
* Since June 2019 Mrs. Lo was no longer a stockholder or director of the pharmacy.
* Mrs. Lo’s attempt to enter pharmacy premises on Nov. 22 was a publicity stunt./PN

Its a good things that the mother tried to finds ways to let all her 3 children be united. Yung nanay ko nga e walang pakialam kung nagkakagulo yung mga anak nya. Doon sya sa anak nya na kung saan busog sya at nauuto ng mga anak ya. Imagine a mother that can forsake some of her children. Naging nanay pa sya and dapat wag magpadami ng anay kung alam mo in the future wala ka ng paki sa kanila.
