SAN JOSE, Antique – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has reached out to 59 villages in Antique by bringing “Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay” program.

During a media conference, Provincial director Mercedes Young said that DTI is doing its best to bring its services to the different communities in the province. This is to further strengthen partnership with the local government units and other stakeholders to create livelihood opportunities in the community.

The “Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay” (NSB) is one of the programs that reaches out to four to sixth class municipalities by gathering key officials of the barangay; local development councils; micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs); and other interested groups.

A total of 7,147 participants attended the NSB forum conducted in 59 barangays from the 10 towns classified as fourth to sixth class municipalities namely Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, Belison, Barbaza, Laua-an, Valderrama, Tibiao, Sebaste, Pandan, and Libertad.

DTI has established Negosyo Center (NC) in every municipality in partnership with the Municipal Government with Business Counselors who are willing to help the MSMEs and locals.

Aside from NCs, DTI also has Shared Service Facilities established in strategic locations in different municipalities where MSMEs can also avail when they need assistance in terms of machinery, equipment and tools. (PIA)
