DURING her contract signing with ABS-CBN Publishing on Dec. 12, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was asked about her “picks” from local personalities whom she thinks have potential to be in Miss Universe.
“Well, everyone always wanted Liza (Soberano) to join ‘di ba?”
“She’s very beautiful and I feel like, she would be wonderful, but I really feel it needs to be the girl who wants to do it. Even if you have so many people say yes this is for you, this is your path, unless you feel it – it needs to be your passion, and your own will,” she explained.
Since 2017, Liza has been encouraged to try joining Miss Universe to represent the Philippines. However, in her interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” Liza said that she is more focused on her acting career, than joining a beauty pageant.
Meanwhile, Catriona also shared her reaction after being tagged online as the “best Miss Universe we’ve ever had.”
“It makes [me] quite emotional, and I’m very flattered to receive a compliment like that. I’ve always just wanted to give my best not just for myself, but for our country. And to know, that I’m able to bring so much happiness and joy and pride to the Philippines, it was so fulfilling for me,” she said. (Push)
