BACOLOD City – Several student athletes of Bacolod Tay Tung High School took home medals in various sports in the recent 2019 Negros Provincial Meet.
In secondary girls badminton, Athena Sonota emerged as gold medal winner in singles while Ciaria Salvio and Julianna Gonzaga won silver in doubles, and same with the tandem of Salvio and Lance Vargas.
The Thunderbolts badminton players also clinched the silver medal in the team event while Daphne Park was the lone bronze medal winner in the secondary girls singles event.
Also with gold medals for the school were Chase Tormon and Abia Uy in elementary girls badminton, while Fern Alekzander Po finished with gold in secondary boys tennis.
In gymnastics, Amanda Rosco bagged a gold medal in aero gymnastics while Kenbert William Ong was also a gold medalist in the taekwondo event.
The school earlier clinched championships in secondary girls volleyball, secondary boys and elementary boys basketball, while Kiana Alagaban and Matthea Efenio also won golds in gymnastics.
The gold medal winners are set to represent Negros Occidental in the upcoming Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet in Aklan in February 2020./PN
