ILOILO City – Guimaras Leopards and J. Cordon Construction-DPWH 2nd District cruised to their second straight wins in the Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Basketball Tournament at the Jaro Gymnasium here.
The Leopards leaned on the hot shooting of Zean Poral on Friday night to score a 94-89 victory over P. Doce SBC-Iloilo Doctors College, which skidded to a second consecutive defeat.
Apart from Poral, also contributing on offense for the Leopards were Eldrin Senierez, RL Cartel and Jefry Espinosa.
J. Cordon Construction-DPWH, meanwhile, hacked out its second straight win after pulling off a stunner over Uniwheels, which had a foreign reinforcement in Prince Eze.
Michael Balbarada, Jhepoy Balleza, John Samones, and JR Dulce were on point on offense for J. Cordon Construction-DPWH to follow up their win over P. Doce on Sunday.
Action resumes today with Estancia Mariners taking on ODM Sportswear, Leopards tangling with Uniwheels and DPWH battling TEJ Builders. Matches will start at 4 p.m./PN
