BACOLOD City – Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts teams swept the crowns in the U-15 and U-13 categories of theBacolod City age-group girls volleyball at the Montalbo’s Covered Court here.
The Thunderbolts A team bagged the championship in the U-15 category by defeating the Thunderbolts B squad on Sunday behind Sophie Cagalawan, Katherine Shaine Cortez and Nicolei Galvan.
Also part of the championship team of head coach Ian Macariola were Jermaine Joniega, Geeann Chuatico, Alijah Ysulan, Ysabelle Chua, Charlene Tayapad, and libero Gwen Bañas.
On their way to the championship round, the Thunderbolts A defeated the WVRAA Meet-bound Negros elementary girls volleyball squad.
In the other semifinals, Thunderbolts B ousted Talisay A.
The Thunderbolts A team also stamped their class in the U-13 category after defeating the Thunderbolts B squad in the championship match.
Among the players of the Thunderbolts A U-13 team were Ryanne Panisales, AJ Palo, KC Delos Reyes, Jerslen Edaño, Joenil Anne Ramos, Elphie Cahilig and Erica Nacional.
