CEBU City — Ilongga middle blocker Elisha Julienne Apostol of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles has drawn interest from the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.

The 5-foot-8 Apostol was among those who impressed during the two-day tryouts conducted by Tigresses head coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes in Cebu recently.

This was the second time that Reyes was able to see the talent of the Ilongga middle blocker first hand after the Magis Eagles played a tune-up with the Golden Tigresses last year.

“There were no commitments with any schools for Elisha although the UST were impressed with her,” a source from the Magis Eagles told Panay News.

He added: “Elisha has committed to finish her high school with Ateneo de Cebu before moving to Manila. We are exposing them to several schools so that they will have multiple options.”

Aside from the Tigresses, several Manila-based schools, including UAAP women’s volleyball champion Ateneo Lady Eagles, have inquired about Apostol.

Before moving to the Magis Eagles earlier this year, Apostol played for the Ateneo de Iloilo and previously suited up for ILOPRISAA in the WVRAA Meet./PN
