St. John athletes shines in Negros provincial meet

BACOLOD City – Elementary and secondary student-athletes from St. John’s Institute Falcons showed their power in the recently-concluded Palarong Panlalawigan 2019 here.

Ricardo Miguel Quilop dominated the elementary boys swimming with seven gold medals.

Andrew James Chu had five golds and two bronzes.

Jacobo Rodriguez won four golds and three silvers, while Lloyd Ruzel Pabon had one gold and one bronze.

In elementary girls swimming, Rianna Montelibano captured five golds and two silver medals, while Angela Christie dela Cruz added one gold and one silver.

In taekwondo, Cyrus Antwayne Hilado bagged a gold in secondary boys poomsae and gold in mixed pair with Raine Micayella Jalandoni.

Jalandoni also had a silver in team poomsae.

Carl Lucky Masbano also clinched a gold medal in secondary boys kyorugi, while Nisha Marie Catada added a gold in elementary girls team poomsae and Ronald Gustillo won bronze in elementary boys kyorugi.

In elementary girls gymnastics, Alyssa Miyuki Chavez took home three golds, two silver and one bronze medals, while Samanthan Anne Hechanova bagged two golds and two bronzes.

In elementary girls badminton, Nichol Marie Paguio emerged as champion in singles and mixed double event, Arkeexa Valens won a silver in singles, Aiesha Lorraine Chua and Mary Annka Anglo also had silvers in doubles.

In secondary boys archery, Alec Nathan Rongo nabbed one gold in team boys, to go along with five silver and one bronze medal.

Santino Miguel Loretizo and Roberto Antonio Roxas were part of the elementary boys basketball champion team, Joshua Baldonado in secondary boys basketball champion team and Julianah Alex Severino in secondary girls volleyball champion team./PN
