BACOLOD City – Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts hopes for a better showing in the Bacolod City leg of the NBTC Basketball starting today at the Bacolod Bays Center here.
Thunderbolts head coach Ronald “Yong” Despi said his squad is determined to improve its runner-up finish in the qualifier next year despite an expected tough opposition.
“Our goal is really to improve our finish last year,” said Despi. “Alam naman namin hindi magiging madali since other teams are tough as well. But we will do our best to qualify in the regionals.”
Bannering the Thunderbolts team are 6-foot-9 center Heinz Gabriel Demisana along with Martin Jay Beatingo, Josh Luciano, Nathan Jundana, John Mark Mercado, and Fritz Valencia.
Also part of the Thunderbolts squad are Jules Wong, Joseph Palaganas, Andy Villamer, Ralph Cagalawan, Dritter Ilalto, Kent Esparagoza, Lucky Charm Ramos, Benedick Gulmatico, and Leindon Chong.
Other competing teams are University of St. La Salle, Escalante National High School, LCC-Bacolod, Colegio San Nicolas Tolentino-Recoletos Talisay, St. John’s Institute, Maranatha Christian College, Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, Sum-ag National High School, Colegio de San Agustin-Bacolod, Living Stones International School, and Negros Occidental High School./PN
