ILOILO City – The passenger jeepney they were riding crashed against a delivery truck in Barangay Nanga, Guimbal, Iloilo.
Jerson Torrato; Lovely Jocel Tuvilla; Rojelso Revilles; Girlie Caguia; Salvador Evalle; Carl Lester Duran; Noel Erasvelo; Arlene Duran; Ashaneth Myles Duran; and Rondio Fernandez were injured, a police report showed. They were all rushed to the Guimbal District Hospital for medical treatment.
According to Guimbal police station chief Lieutenant Nelson Caro, the incident happened around 8:40 a.m.
The jeepney driven by Michael John Erasmo plunged into a canal when it was hit by a wayward truck. It was carrying passengers on its way to Igbaras, Iloilo.
The truck driver Wilbert Gayagaya claimed the brake of the vehicle malfunctioned thus he lost control.
He was detained in the lockup cell of the Guimbal police station./PN
