ILOILO City – The city government is building a 120-unit medium-rise condominium for its employees in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district.
“This year na ini because we have the property and we also have the funds,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.
The initial fund for this housing project is P88 million, he said.
Rules will be drawn for the selection of beneficiaries, added Treñas.
The priority, though, would be city government employees with no houses of their own.
“I think we have to start with the permanent (employees) and then later amat-amat kita kadto sa aton job hires,” said Treñas.
The city government is planning a similar medium-rise condominium for informal settlers.
It will likely be constructed in Barangay Sambag, Jaro, said Treñas.
“We will be able to finalize that after clearing with the other local government unit kay may portion of the property nga ato sa Pavia, Iloilo,” according to the mayor.
