BORACAY – A mother and her daughter were nabbed in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Manoc-Manoc.
Police identified them as 44-year-old Mary Jane and 18-year old Shaila Morales of Panay, Capiz, police said.
An undercover officer initially bought from Mary Jane a sachet of suspected illegal drugs for P700.
Ten sachets of suspected shabu were seized during Mary Jane’s arrest around 5:20 a.m. on Jan. 12, police said.
The entrapment operation staged by the operatives of Malay police station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Group Company led to the apprehension of Shaila.
When frisked, Shaila yielded 10 sachets of suspected shabu and cash which amounted to P570 in stuffed inside her wallet.
“Hindi sa akun bata ang nakuha na illegal drugs sa iya wallet,” Mary Jane said.
According to police investigators, May Jane placed under surveillance for about two weeks.
“Bago lang akung nagtitinda ng illegal drugs at kaaabot lang namun sa Boracay kahapon para magdeliver. Ang trabaho ku ga paglaba sa Roxas City,” Mary Jane added.
The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the Malay police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
