BACOLOD City – Eleven persons were caught engaging in an illegal cockfight in Barangay Villamonte.
Police identified them as residents Ronald Mendoza; Kristianne Dela Torre; Johnyvern Serdenia; Norleto Tabianosa; John Grey Esteva; Jomar Alvarez; Erwin Winceslao; Jamel Lumasag; Carlo Lamayo; Ely Martinez; and Wendell Winceslao.
They were nabbed around 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 when police chanced
upon them.
Recovered from their possession were bet money amounting to P1,800 and six game
fowls.
The suspects were detained in the lockup facility of Police Station 4, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974./PN
