BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts-NOPSSCEA team sharpens its screw ahead of the 2020 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet as it participates in the in the Cebu-Bacolod Goodwill Women’s Volleyball games at the Ateneo de Cebu in Mandaue this weekend.
Thunderbolts team manager Jose Montalbo said that the pocket tournament aims to assess the squad ahead of the Regional Meet, which was moved to March 21 in Makato, Aklan.
“This tournament is an opportunity to determine the readiness of the team. And also for the team to experience playing a regular game again especially with the WVRAA Meet being delayed,” said Montalbo.
Bannering the Tay Tung flag will be team captain Shane Carmona, Alyssa Bertolano, Joan Marie Monares, Rhean Hebraica Almendralejo and Kiesha Dazzie Bedonia.
Also in the roster were Gwen Bañas, Katherine Shaine Cortez, Julianne Monares, Nicolei Galvan, Alijah Ysulan as well as Myrtle Escanlar from Calvary Baptist School and Julianah Severino of St. John’s Institute.
The Thunderbolts will be clashing against Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu secondary girls volleyball team A and B, University of San Jose-Recoletos tertiary team and the University of San Carlos college team./PN
