BACOLOD City – The local government unit of this declared over the weekend a state of general community quarantine effective immediately as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Executive Order No. 21 restricting travel by land, sea, and air.
Movement of goods to and from the city, however, will not be hampered or restricted.
Meanwhile, drivers and delivery personnel will be subject to health checking procedures by authorities designated by the city government.
Residents’ movement will be limited to accessing basic necessities and work.
Leonardia ordered the Bacolod City Police Office and Philippine Coast Guard and to secure the ports and borders and put up checkpoints. Personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management office and the City health Office (CHO) will also join during the checkpoint.
The CHO as of Monday recorded seven patients under investigation for possible COVID-19 infection in this city, whom they are now quarantined in several hospitals here./PN
