THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Saturday said it has issued a memorandum extending the accreditation of stakeholders who were unable to process their renewal papers due to the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
The BOC said the memorandum, issued on Mar. 19, was issued as “concerns grow regarding stakeholder accreditation amidst the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).”
Under the memorandum, the extension shall include Importers, Customs Brokers, SGL Importers, Customs Bonded Warehouses, Customs Facilities and Warehouses and other third parties transacting and accredited by the Bureau.
The memo gave stakeholders with expired accreditation during the quarantine period one month from the lifting of the ECQ to submit their application for accreditation renewal.
“The Bureau is one with nation in combating the spread of COVID-19,” the BOC said.
“The agency further assures its stakeholders that during these trying times, the BOC shall do everything it can to provide assistance and ensure continuity of service and operations,” it said.(GMA News)
