BACOLOD City – Already in the state of decomposition, a body of an 8-year-old girl was found in a sugarcane field in Hacienda Palma, Barangay Andulauan, Ilog, Negros Occidental.
The victim, whose name was withheld by authorities, was a resident of Ilog’s Barangay 1.
Police investigators said sugarcane worker Ode Cahilig discovered the girl’s body on March 5.
Initial investigations revealed the victim was last seen on the evening of March 6, together with the person of interest.
On March 8, the parents of the victim reported to the police that their daughter was missing since evening of March 6.
The victim’s body was brought to a local mortuary for a “post-mortem” examination.
Officers of the Ilog police station were still investigating the incident as of this writing./PN
