MANILA – With the presence of the coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak in the country not slowing down, the Philippines Football League (PFL) has postponed anew the kickoff of its fourth season.

In an advisory yesterday, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) announced the postponement of the season from its earlier schedule of April 18 to a later part in May.

“PFF has moved the kickoff date of the PFL Season 2020 from 18 April 2020 to a tentative date set on the later part of May 2020 due to the situation resulting from the Enhanced Community Quarantine and increasing COVID-19 infections in the National Capital Region,” the PFF said.

The country’s governing body of association football, the PFF, urged its fans to observe best practices in combating the virus, to cooperate with local and national authorities, and to be safe and healthy during the on-going state of public health emergency.

The PFL is set to kick off its fourth season with optimism following the entry of Qatar Airways as the title sponsor.
