SAN JOSE, Antique – Four persons were caught engaging in illegal cockfighting in Barangay Magcalon.
Police identified them as resident Norato Pilosopo, 54, Rizalday Lamprea of Barangay Mojon, 32, and Exequiel Canja, 32, of Barangay Guisijan, Lau-an.
The suspects were caught on April 10, police said.
Recovered from their possession were three game fowls and bet money which amounted to P700, the police added.
The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the San Jose municipal police station.
Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling and for violation of enhanced community quarantine will be filed against them./PN
