ILOILO City – As of April 22, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) had distributed 22,040 food packs to families economically displaced by the ongoing enhanced community quarantine in Western Visayas.
The released food packs were worth a total of P7,934,400, according to Assistant Secretary Rhea Peñaflor.
Per province, the following received food packs:
* Iloilo – 7,319 family food packs worth P2,634,840
* Negros Occidental – 3,733 food packs worth P1,343,880
* Capiz – 4,000 food packs worth P1,440,000
* Antique – 3,244 food packs worth P1,167,840
* Aklan – 2,200 food packs worth P792,000
* Guimaras – 1,544 food packs worth P55,840
Each family food pack contains six sachets of coffee, six kilos of rice, and assorted canned sardines, worth P360.
For easy distribution, DSWD Region 6 prepositioned 24,200 family food packs in March:
*1,700 for Aklan (prepositioned in Kalibo, Buruanga and Makato towns)
* 2,600 for Antique (prepositioned in Barbaza, Tobias Fornier, Patnongon, and Bugasong)
* 4,000 for Capiz (prepositioned in Dumarao, Jamindan, Maayon, and Panit-an)
* 3,819 for Iloilo (prepositioned in Carles, 1,000; Calinog, 1,000; Concepcion, 819)
* 2,400 for Negros Occidental (prepositioned in Bago City, 1,000; Talisay City, 1,000; Bacolod City, 200)
* 2,000 for Guimaras.
The rest were stored at the DSWD-6 warehouse in Oton, Iloilo./PN
