BACOLOD City – Police nabbed 12 persons for playing the illegal numbers game “bingo” in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
They were Marvin Belleza; Arnel Capun-an; Agnes Saludo; Corazon Angcahas; Aimee Belleza; Karen Fernandez; Melly Belleza; Amy Belleza; Chenee Villanueva; Eloisa Belleza; Gina Belleza; and Mildred Fernando, police said.
The suspects – all residents of the village – were caught around 7 p.m. on May 9, the police added.
Recovered from their possession were bingo cards, a bingo plastic shaker and bet money which amounted to P235.
They were brought to the Silay City police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
