ILOILO City – Police caught eight persons engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Cata-an, San Joaquin, Iloilo.
They were residents Renato Sano, Jesus Cartin, Lex Gomez, Augustin Tuante, Jeffrey Labaro, Albert Sasa, Elmer Sasa, and Eric Andotan, a police report showed.
Police chanced upon the suspects playing tong-its at around9 p.m. on May 14, it added.
Recovered from their possession were three decks of playing cards and bet money which amounted to P3,170.
Detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station, the suspect face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
