SAN JOSE, Antique – A man was found dead floating near a dam in Barangay Valderama, Culasi, Antique.
John Vincent Filaro, 27, was believed to have drowned at the Bacong River in Barangay Alojipan, Culasi, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, Filaro and his son went fishing at the river on May 16 when a flashflood occurred due to heavy rain.
The son was immediately rescued and was rushed to the Culasi District Hospital.
Filaro, meanwhile, was found by personnel of the Culasi Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Antique Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office around 10:55 p.m. yesterday.
Officers of the Culasi Municipal police station ruled out foul play in the incident./PN
