SAN JOSE, Antique – Police officers in this province have apprehended 122 persons for violating curfew hours since the rule was implemented on March 17.
“The curfew is being implemented from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.,” Antique Provincial Police Office deputy director for operations Lieutenant Colonel Norby Escobar said on May 20.
People who are still outside of their residences once the curfew hours begin are asked by cops to stay in holding areas like gymnasiums if not in police stations until the curfew ends, he added.
This province’s curfew was first implemented during the enhanced community quarantine and is still in in effect under Gov. Rhodora Cadiao’s Executive Order No. 49, extending the general community quarantine which began on May 16.
Here’s the breakdown of the number of individuals by towns who were caught violating the curfew hours:
* Culasi – 24
* Sebaste – 22
* Sibalom – 18
* San Jose – 17
* Tibiao – 11
* Laua-an – 8
* Patnongon – six
* Bugasong – five
* Caluya – four
* Pandan – three
* Valderrama – two
* Belison – one
* Hamtic – one
Escobar said 89 of the curfew violators were only given warnings; seven undergone inquest proceedings; one was fined; and 25 are for regular filing of cases by the police.
Authorized persons outside of residence (APORs), on the other hand, are already exempted from the curfew.
APORs include government health workers and private medical personnel, social workers, police, and other uniformed personnel of the government.(With a report from PNA/PN)
