BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental will be hiring personnel for its coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) contact tracing division.

Provincial consultant on economic affairs and former 3rd District Rep. Alfredo Benitez, said the provincial government is looking for nurses, medical technicians, and IT personnel. He said those who are interested can submit their applications to the Capitol building in Bacolod City.

Earlier this week, the Department of Health (DOH) said they are currently conducting “emergency hiring” of 94,000 contact tracers to stem the spread of the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.

The DOH stated the ideal ratio for its contact tracing efforts is one tracer per 800 people.

Contact tracers are healthcare personnel who track down the close contacts of individuals who tested positive for the virus./PN
