MANILA – Another piece of Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors’ roster was unveiled while the Philippine Superliga action remains stalled due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The Lady Realtors announced on its social media accounts the formal commitment of Regine Arocha, who will be adding more firepower to the deep outside hitter rotation of the team when league action resumes.
Arocha should be a welcome addition to the team as she has vast experience. She steered the Arellano University Lady Chiefs to numerous National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) women’s volleyball championships aside from clinching the league’s Most Valuable Player award.
At the Lady Realtors, the five-foot-seven Arocha will have to battle for playing time with fellow outside hitters Pamela Lastimosa, Honey Royce Tubino and Filipina-Americans Mar Jana Philips and Jessica Vestal.
Arocha’s commitment to the Lady Realtors came months after she openly declined a possibility of replaying her fifth and final year with the Lady Chiefs after her supposed farewell NCAA season was cut short by COVID-19 pandemic.
Arocha, who will be playing in the Philippine Superliga for the first time, joins the Lady Realtors latest acquisition in middle blockers Mika Reyes and Maristela Layug, along with libero Alexandria Bollier./PN
