ILOILO City – Police caught five individuals engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Tolarocan, Mina, Iloilo.
Ronald Mallo, 39; Ronnie Defensor, 47; Romeo Mallorca, 56; Delia Corneta, 60 and Beverly Jalando-on, 21, were caught playing tong-its around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a police report showed.
Recovered from their possession were two decks of playing cards and P510 bet money.
Detained in the lockup cell of the Mina police station, the suspects face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
