BACOLOD City – The communication and coordination between the Philippine Army (PA) and police force in Negros Island remains strong.

Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, commander of 303rd Infantry Brigade, said this following the misencounter between government soldiers and police officers in Jolo, Sulu on Monday which led to the deaths of four soldiers, including two senior officers.

He said both the police and army forces in Negros coordinate whenever they conduct operations.

According to Pasaporte, one of the guidelines of the battalion commanders in Negros is to always communicate with the police chiefs of the localities.

Meetings and conferences between the army and police are also conducted regulary to avoid misencounters, he added.

Pasaporte refused to comment on the shooting incident in Sulu. He will just wait instead for the investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation to determine who was at fault and who should be punished./PN
