ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) targets “zero major crime incidence” during the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) ministerial meeting next year.

IPPO director, Senior Supt. Cornelio Salinas this commitment also holds immediately before and after the event.

Iloilo was one the cities officially chosen to host the APEC.

Salinas presented the inputs, processes and goals of the IPPO in its quest to achieve the said commitment during his Governance Report to Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. and members of the Provincial Advisory Council (PAC), recently.

Also bared in IPPO’s report were their other commitments and targets to:

  • reduce street crime by 50 percent
  • increase crime solution efficiency by three percent, and
  • prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs and illegal gambling.

After reporting to the governor, Salinas subsequently presented IPPO’s Governance Report to the National Headquarters in Camp Crame.

The IPPO hopes to pass the certification stage in the Performance Governance System being institutionalized through Millennium Development Goals.

PAC head Atty. Raul Anlocotan, assistant regional director of the National Economic and Development Authority, offered  additional guidance and suggestions to improve IPPO’s presentation.

Gov. Defensor expressed his appreciation to the members of PAC for helping the provincial police in goal realization.

He lauded Salinas for being an “inspirational” leader to the personnel of the IPPO./PN
