ILOILO City – A drunken man who threatened his neighbors was arrested yesterday in Poblacion Ilaya, Dumarao, Capiz.
The 56-year-old Mamerto Gimeno yielded a hand grenade. He was taken to the Dumarao municipal police station.
Gimeno was caught around 6 p.m. on July 8 after his neighbors sought the police’s help. They claimed the suspect was causing disturbance.
Responding policemen said they saw Gimeno holding the hand grenade.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9516, which imposes stiffer penalties for illegal possession of explosives, will be filed against him./PN
