MANILA – Choco Mucho Flying Titans continued its recruiting coup even during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic with the acquisition of Deanna Wong and Caitlin Viray.
The Flying Titans announced the entry of Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles setter Wong and University of Santo Tomas (UST) Golden Tigresses hitter Viray through its social media accounts.
Wong, who helped the Lady Eagles in their UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball coronation, is nothing new to playing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) as she saw action two years ago for Ateneo-Motolite.
Viray, on the other hand, has been in the commercial league scene for quite a while having played for PVL’s UST Golden Tigresses and Philippine Superliga’s Philippine Army Lady Troopers and Marinerang Pilipina Lady Skippers.
Wong’s addition will give the Flying Titans a better direction on offense with her familiarity with Lady Eagles teammates Kat Tolentino, Madeleine Madayag and Bea De Leon.
The presence of Viray, on the other hand, will further strengthen the Flying Titan’s net defense while serving as another threat on the wing.
The Flying Titans has been shoring up its lineup in time for the PVL Season 4 after it finished seventh out of nine teams in its debut in Season 3 Open Conference last year./PN
