BACOLOD City – The Riverside Medical Center (RMC) in this city has declared “full capacity” and won’t be able to accept coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients anymore.

RMC said its isolation facility, which is being utilized for admitting and treating patients with COVID-19, are already filled as of Monday.

“Our isolation facility has already reached its full capacity. In this regard, we can no longer accept patients for admission who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, effective July 20,” the private hospital, also known as the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital, said in statement.

“We, therefore, advise patients with these symptoms to seek admission in an alternate healthcare facility of their choice,” it added.

Admissions and treatment of non-COVID cases, including outpatient procedures, on the other hand, will still be accommodated. Likewise, the Medical Arts Building also remains open for scheduled medical consultations.
The hospital also affirmed that due to the level of their exposure to patients, several of their own healthcare personnel have recently started exhibiting symptoms.
However, the hospital management assured the public that the medical personnel in question have already been placed in isolation and are now undergoing treatment. Contact tracing was immediately initiated.
The hospital said it will also undergo disinfection and terminal cleaning, adding that patients’ safety remains their paramount priority./PN
