BACOLOD City – A money lender was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The 44-year-old resident Jose Renante Fernandez sustained a gunshot wound on the head, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, Fernandez was backriding on the motorcycle driven by Jerson Pechon when the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. on July 23.
The victim was supposed to meet at the barangay hall a person who owes him money.
Fernandez was rushed to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.” Officers of the Cadiz City police station conducted a manhunt operation against the suspects, who fled after the incident./PN
