ILOILO City – Two Santa Clarita International School cagers will shore up the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tiger Cubs roster in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

UST men’s basketball head coach Aldin Ayo confirmed to Panay News they have secured the services of six-foot-five center Rogelle Alvaladejo and six-foot-one guard Michael Jose Jayme.
“These two players are good additions to the Tiger Cubs team of coach Jinino (Manansala),” Ayo said. “Since aligned na ang basketball program ng UST Tiger Cubs and Growling Tigers, it is like training them in preparation for the latter.”

Santa Clarita Primes mentor Rodel Camacho, for his part, said he felt proud seeing Alvaladejo and Jayme get recognized by Ayo.
“As a coach, of course I am proud that their talents were recognized by UST. The school will surely take care of these two players not just in basketball but also in academics,” Camacho said.

Alvaladejo and Jayme joined the growing list of Santa Clarita cagers who were tapped to play in the UAAP. The others were John Bryan Sajonia who is now with the Far Eastern University Tamaraws’ Team B and Mark Jimenez who was part of the Baby Tamaraws. Ex-Primes players Franc Steven Tono and Ralph Bajon, on the other hand, will take their talents to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Tono is set to debut for the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Squires in juniors basketball while Bajon committed to play for Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals in the seniors division./PN
