ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Public Library (ICPL) has been conducting various initiatives to continuously educate children here while staying at home amid the quarantine.

City Librarian Marion Aguirre said that they have produced interaction modules for children and they are also conducting visual storytelling via their official Facebook Page.

“We are doing this for our children and we are also prioritizing kids with special needs to educate them and to give appropriate learning and to make their minds work,” she said.

She said that they have started providing these modules, which comprised English, Math and Arts last May.

Likewise, more modules will be produced for children aged four to 10 years old, according to Aguirre.

She added that parents can also visit the ICPL at the second floor of the Iloilo City Hall in order to get the modules for free.

Meanwhile, the visual storytelling aims to teach, inspire, and educate children, as part of their campaign to encourage kids to read more books rather than engaging in non-educational activities.

Aguirre said that the weekly activity highlights storytelling for children aged four to 10 years old.

She added that this activity paves way for children to be more attentive and interactive, and to instill the love for reading. (Iloilo City-PIO/PIA6 Iloilo/PN)
