BACOLOD City – A 62-year-old stepmother was killed and buried near a river by her stepson in Sitio Paniquion, Barangay Jerusalem, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the victim as Andiolina Sibuyan.
Lieutenant Colonel Robert Mansueto, Cadiz City police chief, said the crime was discovered on Monday.
Residents saw Andiolina’s stepson, 42-year-old Angelito, digging by the river near their house.
The suspect admitted the crime and helped retrieve the body of his stepmother.
Angelito told police he lost control of himself. His stepmom would often offend him with her mouth.
Mansueto said the suspect revealed he killed his stepmom by suffocation on Aug. 1 around 7 p.m. He immediately buried Andiolina.
The suspect is in police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges against him./PN
